UNITED STUDENTS ORGANISATION
THE HISTORY OF UNITED SERVICE ORGANISATION
The U.S.O. or the Students Government, was the result of an original idea from Miss. Wells (Principal fo what was then the Girls High School), in the year 1947. The purpose of this system was to give the students a sense of self reliance and to prepare them for the future.
The seedling planted by Miss. Wells under the name of Students Government, blossomed and flourished into a fairly large organization, called the U.S.O. (United Students Organisation), now an indispensable part of our school life.
The U.S.O. has now become the centre of all students activities. It’s purpose is to act as a connecting link between the administrators, teachers and the students and to foster a spirit of co-operation among all departments of the school. It also serves to instill in the students a sense of loyalty to the school and a sense of responsibility as good citizens, both as followers and as potential leaders and to train them to understand the functioning of the government of their own country and to enable them to become loyal citizens and serve their country.
